Very few hip-hop careers have stood the test of time like Lil Wayne’s. With over 20 years in the game under his belt, Lil Wayne is set to receive the “I Am Hip Hop” award at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards.  The awards will take place in Miami on October 6th.

Over the course of his career, Weezy has produced 7 gold selling albums. He also released 4 platinum  selling albums, The Carter III & IV. Additionally, he has snagged several platinum certified singles. The high level of his commercial success shows that this award is long overdue.

Again, this year’s Hip Hop Awards will take place in Miami on October 6th. The show is at the The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. It will air on all BET networks October 16th.
