Jhene Aiko Speaks Candidly About Her Battles With Drug Addiction

Singer Jhene Aiko has opened up about dealing with mental health issues in the past. Most recently, she took to Instagram to reflect on an incident where she thought she was going die, due to an addiction she was battling.
On a photo of Aiko standing on a mountain top victoriously, she wrote “I thought I was going to die the night before I took this picture. I had just spent the day at the Maui Healing Center 2 days prior and left feeling so renewed, enlightened and like i was on the right path to proper healing. The next day, which was the day b4 i took this picture…i took a hike… and visited my favorite statue of Buddha in Lahaina.”
Next, she went on to talk about how her head started to once the day had ended, which led her to say she would not be taking made her vow not to take any pills to combat the pain. As a result, Jhene Aiko says she began to throw up until she saw blood all over her bathroom floor.
As traumatic as the whole ordeal sounds, the singer seems to be in a much better place now. “It felt like a baptism of some sort. never too late to start again. never too late to get better.”
