Unfortunately, many rappers have had not-so-positve experiences while on a flight or trying to board a flight before. The latest on this list is Wale. Wale first accused American Airlines of racism after they threatened to call the police on him because he “wasn’t supposed to be in first class”. The rapper then took to Twitter to address his outrage and concerns with American.

First, Wale started with some pretty regular tweets about continuous flight delays. He complained about flight delays “for like the 5th time in 10 days”. American Airlines then responded with their aplologies, and stated that the delays were due to maintenence. Next, Wale dropped the bomb. “How about ur employees Megumi and Don told me ‘ur not supposed to be in first class? I’m calling the police.'” he tweeted. “Here u go. Y’all racist and I wanna know what happens now. Megumi and Don is their names.” he continued.

After Wale’s complaint, American Airlines then replied with great concern. “Discrimination has no place at American Airlines. From the team members we hire to the customers we serve, inclusion and diversity is a way of life at American. Every day, our team members work to make American a place where people of all generations, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religious affiliations and backgrounds feel welcome and valued. We are concerned about the comments from Mr. Akintimehin, and our team is reaching out to him to gather more information about what occurred last night.”

In conclusion, American Airlines is investigating the matter, and will hopefully take action soon. Check out Wale’s tweets about his experience below.
