Travis Scott’s first ever Astroworld Festival took place in his hometown of Houston on Saturday, November 17 at NRG Park.

Over 40,000 fans from across the world swarmed the park to enjoy the festival. Major artists like Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd and Post Malone all touched the Astroworld stage. Up and comers like Sheck Wes, Gunna, and Trippie Redd, also blessed the crowd with performances.

In addition to the phenomenal turnout for the festival, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and the City of Houston officially proclaimed November 18th as ‘Astroworld Day’.

“I grew up here my whole life. I was inspired by Astroworld,” Scott told a crowd of citizens and high school students. “In ’05 when they took it away, it kind of like took a big piece of my heart away. I didn’t have anywhere to go. I just wanted to kind of bring back that feeling and give this city something [so] they can always have something fun to do.” said Travis, speaking on the huge honor.
