Summer Walker Announces New EP Release at 2023 Dreamville Festival
R&B singer-songwriter Summer Walker took to the stage at the 2023 Dreamville Festival, streaming live via Amazon Music, and shared exciting news with her fans.
“Just wanted to let you guys know that I have an EP dropping—May 19,” Walker announced, as festival attendees responded with enthusiastic cheers. “Ya’ll ready for some new music?”
Titled “Clear 2: Soft Life,” Summer Walker’s upcoming EP follows the original 4-track “Clear” extended play released in January 2019, which featured songs like “Riot” and “Wasted.” Walker gained mainstream recognition with her 2019 album “Over It,” which included collaborations with Usher, 6LACK, Jhené Aiko, Drake, and more. The Recording Industry Association of America certified “Over It” as Platinum in 2020.
Walker’s 2021 album “Still Over It” followed the success of “Over It,” debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 166,000 first-week units. “Still Over It” boasted an impressive roster of artists, including Cardi B, JT, SZA, Lil Durk, Pharrell Williams, Ciara, and others.
The track “No Love,” featuring SZA, from “Still Over It” reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, Summer Walker contributed to LVRN’s “Home For the Holidays Vol. 2” last year, performing a rendition of the holiday classic “Santa Baby” for the compilation.
