Kelly Rowland and Sara Bareilles to Judge in Audible’s Novel Singing Competition Podcast, ‘Breakthrough’
Grammy-winning artist Kelly Rowland, renowned as a member of Destiny’s Child, will judge a groundbreaking audio series set to premiere on June 1.
The new show, “Breakthrough,” is touted as the inaugural singing contest produced exclusively as a podcast and will be hosted on Audible.
Expressing her joy at being part of this innovative venture, Rowland said, “Breakthrough provides an unprecedented platform for emerging talents and I am thrilled to contribute to their journey. With Audible as the perfect backdrop for this endeavour, I look forward to cheering on every participant.”
Joining Rowland on the judging panel is Grammy laureate singer-songwriter, Sara Bareilles. Both artists will play dual roles as judges and mentors, offering their insights and assisting in the contestants’ artistic evolution throughout the series.
Bareilles’ excitement is palpable as she shares, “I’m overjoyed to collaborate with this group of extremely talented individuals on Breakthrough. The uniqueness of this journey lies in our discovery of the artists simultaneously with our audience – appreciating their artistry solely through their music and narrative.”

Audible is set to enhance the show’s appeal by bringing in Daveed Diggs, the Grammy and Tony award-winning star of ‘Hamilton,’ to host Breakthrough. Over the span of nine episodes, the contestants will vie for mid-season rewards including extra vocal coaching, studio recording time, and recording gear.
