Blue Ivy Shines Bright Alongside Beyoncé on Renaissance Tour
Blue Ivy, the 11-year-old daughter of celebrity power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has been making waves with her performances on her mother’s Renaissance tour.
She first graced the stage with Beyoncé during a concert in Paris, where, despite facing some unwarranted online criticism, Blue Ivy’s confidence remained unshaken. The young star made a triumphant reappearance on the tour’s London leg on Monday, May 29. For their London act, the mother-daughter pair donned matching radiant red jumpsuits, a departure from their silver outfits in Paris.
Blue Ivy showcased her dancing prowess during a dance break in Beyoncé’s hit track “My Power,” performing alongside her mother’s backup dancers. The performance concluded to an uproarious applause from the crowd, while a visibly elated Beyoncé looked on at her daughter with evident pride.
Beyoncé took to Instagram on Monday to share a heartfelt message for her “beautiful first born” alongside a series of snapshots from their Paris performance. In the caption, she expressed her immense pride and gratitude, calling Blue Ivy her “sweet angel.”
Blue Ivy’s impressive debut on the Renaissance tour also saw her grandmother, Tina Knowles, share her own feelings of pride on Instagram. She lauded her granddaughter’s courage and talent for performing in front of a massive audience of nearly 70,000 people.
Knowles further praised Blue Ivy for her smooth execution of the intricate choreography, which she had learned in just over a week. Drawing comparisons to the late R&B singer Aaliyah, Knowles characterized her granddaughter as one of the “coolest, most confident” 11-year-olds she knows.
