Michael Jackson Thriller Hits Billboard 200 Top 10
Michael Jackson’s Thriller album made a return to the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 list after the celebration of its 40-year anniversary. Thriller was originally released in 1982. Sony Music and the Estate of Michael Jackson presented a special Thriller 40 double-disc version which includes never-released tracks Jackson worked on during the Thriller recording sessions. The spark was enough to push Thriller from 115 on the chart to No. 7. This is the first time the album has hit Top 10 since 1984. When it was released in November 1982, Thriller remained at No. 1 for 37 nonconsecutive weeks. Michael Jackson’s Thriller is one of the most commercially successful albums of all time. The album is certified 34x-Platinum.
