Despite legal turmoil, and public disputes over album rankings, Tekashi and Nicki Minaj have had an incredible year musically. Both Nicki Minaj and Tekashi 6ix9ine have continued to atttack the charts, and they’ve done it again by selling over a million singles of their song “Fefe”. The hit track was certified platinum by the RIAA as of August 15th, 2018.

After Nicki released her new album Queen, the rap superstar has been facing public scrutiny for disputing her album Billboard album ranking. Minaj has argued via Twitter that merchandise bundles she was selling that included her album, were not being counted towards her sales. Despite this fact, it is undisputed that “Fefe” has gone platinum.

With Tekashi facing legal troubles behind disobeying judges orders, this accolade is a welcomed positive. The “Tati” rapper is no stranger to RIAA accolades either. His hit song “Gummo” was certified platinum in March. Tekashi also took to Instagram to boast his platinum status to his followers and haters.
