Michael Jackson's "Thriller 3D" To Be Released In IMAX Theaters

On Thursday, August 29th, the world celebrated the birthday of one of the greatest entertainers to grace the stage, the late Michael Jackson. In celebration of the icon’s birthday, his estate made a major announcement. The Michael Jackson estate and IMAX are collaborating to digitally remaster “Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D” to IMAX 3D. The film will release in theaters accross the U.S. starting September 21st.
The excutors of Michael’s estate commented on the release. They stated that the icon loved to give his fans the “latest and greatest in technology and entertainment experiences”. John Landis orginally directed the short film in 1983. The 3D version of it premiered in 2017 at the 74th Venice Film Festival. Now that Thriller 3D is getting the IMAX uprgrade, it will be interesting to see what the new release will bring.
