Reality television star Toya Johnson-Rushing is set to continue her career with a new series on the WE tv network.
The show, titled “Toya & Reginae,” will feature Lil Wayne’s ex-wife and their daughter, Reginae Carter.
According to Variety, the new series is a spinoff of the Growing Up Hip Hop franchise, with both Toya Johnson-Rushing and Reginae Carter having previously appeared in Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta. “I’m so excited to let viewers back into our lives to see what my family has been up to since you’ve seen us last,” said Johnson-Rushing. “Toya & Reginae” is scheduled to air this fall on WE tv and the ALLBLK streaming platform.
Before this new venture, Toya Johnson-Rushing was a main cast member on BET’s Tiny and Toya reality show, which aired for two seasons between 2009 and 2010. Additionally, BET aired Toya: A Family Affair for one season in 2011. Johnson-Rushing’s reality TV experience also includes an appearance on WE tv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars and VH1’s T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, alongside her daughter Reginae Carter.
Apart from her reality TV appearances, Reginae Carter has made her mark in the acting world, with roles in television movies such as Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta and Dear Santa, I Need a Date. Born on November 29, 1998, to a 15-year-old Toya Johnson and 16-year-old Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, Reginae’s parents married in 2004 before filing for divorce two years later.
