Talib Kweli Announces Black Star Album Is Coming
It’s been nearly 24 years since the release of Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star. Talib Kweli teased their latest album, saying they are ready to drop.
Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def) have become a major topic of discussion since their appearance in Netflix’s “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy.” Talib said the album has been done over a year and was recorded “in hotel rooms and dressing rooms across the globe.” Previously, they would not release the album because they couldn’t find the “right deal” to release. Both emcees voiced frustration with streaming pay rates and said they would likely not drop their music through the DSPs. They said they will find a creative to put their music out without putting themselves at a disadvantage.
