Swizz Beatz & Timbaland Settle Verzuz Lawsuit With Triller
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have settled a $28 million lawsuit with Triller over Verzuz. The lawsuit stemmed from unpaid royalties from the sale of Verzuz. “Verzuz has always been a platform that is by the artists, for the artists and with the people,” Swizz Beatz and Timbaland said in a statement. “We’re glad to come to an amicable agreement with Triller and continue giving fans the music and community that they’ve come to know and love from the brand.” The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount. Swizz Beatz and Timbaland created Verzuz in March 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. The battles started as virtual events before being moved to in-person live events. Triller purchased the event in January 2021 for an undisclosed amount.
