Snoop Dogg Buys Death Row Records

Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg is taking it back where he started with the purchase of Death Row Records. He was able to purchase the label from MNRK Music Group (formerly known as eOne Music). The label was originally founded by Dr. Dre and Suge Knight in 1991. Snoop released his first album on Death Row, Doggystyle, in 1993. Death Row filed for bankruptcy in 2006 and was purchased by WIDEawake Entertainment Group in 2009 before being sold to eOne in 2013. In a press release, Snoop stated “this is an extremely meaningful moment for me… I’m looking forward to building the next chapter of Death Row Records.”
