Finally, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky emerged from their hotel, with the nine-time Grammy Award winner keeping her gown hidden beneath an old Hollywood-style fur coat. However, she changed outfits before her official red-carpet debut, staying true to her reputation for dramatic Met Gala looks.
At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rihanna appeared in a white Maison Valentino gown with a long, sweeping train, paired with a striking rosette-filled white top covering her head and upper body. She accessorized the ensemble with matching opera-length fingerless gloves and cat-eye sunglasses featuring attached fake eyelashes.
A$AP Rocky paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, the theme of this year’s Met Gala, in a Gucci outfit. He wore a black blazer, white dress shirt, and a red plaid pleated kilt with a train layered over jeans.
