Post Malone has made history by becoming the first artist to earn six Diamond Single Awards, surpassing the previous record-holder, Bruno Mars. To be recognized as a Diamond single, a song must sell over 10 million RIAA units. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) officially certified Post Malone’s “Circles,” “Better Now,” and “I Fall Apart” as Diamond singles on April 20. These certifications come after his earlier successes with “Sunflower,” “Congratulations,” “White Iverson,” “Psycho,” and “Rockstar,” which also reached Diamond status. In November 2022, “Sunflower,” a collaboration with Swae Lee for the film Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse, reached 17x-Platinum certification, making it the highest-certified song of all time. Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” achieved the same certification later that month. With eight Diamond singles to his name, Post Malone has surpassed Bruno Mars’ previous record of six. Other artists close behind include Drake and The Weeknd, each with five Diamond singles. To mark this momentous achievement, Post Malone released The Diamond Collection, a compilation featuring his eight Diamond singles and a new track, “Chemical,” on April 21. In addition to his Diamond singles, the 27-year-old rapper and singer also boasts a discography of multi-Platinum albums, including 2016’s Stoney (5x-Platinum), 2018’s Beerbongs & Bentleys (5x-Platinum), and 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding (4x-Platinum), with each surpassing four million units in sales. Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys and Hollywood’s Bleeding both reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, while he also scored four No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Among them, “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage held the top position for eight weeks.
