In a heartfelt display of unity, Offset and Quavo, members of the renowned rap trio Migos, came together to commemorate Takeoff on what would have been his 29th birthday. The two rappers joined forces for a private birthday tribute held on Sunday, June 18, honoring their late group member. Symbolizing their solidarity, both Offset and Quavo wore white shirts adorned with an image of Takeoff’s face on the front. Amidst the gathering of family and friends, paper lanterns ascended into the night sky as a poignant Rocket Man tribute. It marked the first time Takeoff was absent from his own birthday celebrations following his tragic passing during a dice game last November. The somber occasion brought Offset and Quavo closer, setting aside any rumored differences as they shared in the collective remembrance of their beloved comrade. Quavo began the commemoration a day prior, taking to Instagram on Saturday (Jun. 18) to post a video of Takeoff. In the caption, he expressed his heartfelt sentiments, writing, “Happy Birthday @yrntakeoff can’t wait for days like this again!!! BEST believe we goin up all week the Rocket way GEEKD 😵‍💫 u 29 n#### 🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀♾🚀.” Offset, too, shared his love and admiration for Takeoff on his birthday through a series of images. His heartfelt message conveyed, “Happy birthday rocket man 🚀 the greatest to touch a mic!! best spirit ever!! Purest man I know, your heart was golden. Bring me peace bra, we celebrate your life because you’re still right here. I love you gang 🚀🚀🚀🚀.” In addition to the birthday tribute, Quavo recently announced his plans to release an album dedicated to his late nephew, Takeoff. This project holds significant meaning for Quavo, serving as his first album since “Huncho” in 2018. Reflecting on his current emotional state, Quavo shared on Instagram, “This album is a true reflection of how I feel right now. Sometimes I’m Good, sometimes I’m Down, sometimes I’m Disappointed, sometimes I fall apart, but then I ALWAYS find my strength again. I know everything might not be alright right now, but the rocket showed me a way to make it RIGHT!” Meanwhile, Offset opened up about the challenges he faces in coping with Takeoff’s untimely demise during a recent interview with Variety. He candidly expressed, “It’s hard for me to talk about s### right now. I’ve never talked about this stuff. Seriously. Talking about Take is hard, man. Talking about all this s### is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That s### hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood. Some things I don’t ever tell nobody. He’s not here. That s### feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say anything to nobody about it.” The touching reunion of Offset and Quavo to honor Takeoff on his birthday serves as a testament to the enduring bond and love shared among the Migos members. Their collective remembrance pays tribute to Takeoff’s immense talent, spirit, and enduring legacy, demonstrating that their unity remains unshaken in the face of adversity.
