Nicki Minaj Snubbed By Grammys

Nicki MInaj Nicki Minaj did not receive a Grammy nomination this year after calling out the Academy over the way they categorized her single, “Super Freaky Girl.” Earlier this year, Nicki criticized the Academy for putting her song in the Pop category as a ploy to stop her from securing a win. While Nicki Minaj has been nominated for 10 Grammys throughout her career, she is yet to actually win the award. “Super Freaky Girl” made Nicki the first woman to have a solo rap track debut at No. 1 since Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998. Her track “Do We Have A Problem?” debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100 which made Nicki Minaj the seventh woman in history and only female rapper to earn 20 Top 10 hits. As of now, Nicki Minaj has stayed silent about the snub but many of her peers have come to her defense.
