Nicki Minaj Pays Tribute To The Barbz During Vanguard Award Acceptance Speech
Nicki Minaj paid tribute to the Barbz who paved the way for her as she accepted the 2022 MTV VMA Vanguard Award. She selected five of her followers to present her with the award as a tribute to the Barbz. She also acknowledged the artists who have influenced her career. She thanked Lil Wayne, Drake, Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh. Nicki Minaj also won the Best Hip Hop Video award for “Do We Have A Problem” which features Lil Baby. During that acceptance speech, she thanked Taylor Swift, Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Ciara, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Gucci Mane, Puff Daddy, Salt-N-Pepa, Kid ‘n Play, Nas, 50 Cent, LL Cool J, G-Unit, and Lil Baby for their influence on her career.
