Nicki Minaj and Twitter Users Adapt to New Tweet Viewing Limits Amid Elon Musk’s Update
Following a recent update by Twitter owner Elon Musk, which introduced limitations on tweet viewing, Nicki Minaj, like many other users, found herself adjusting to the changes. Over the weekend, Twitter unveiled new restrictions on the number of tweets users could view per day. Initially, verified accounts were limited to 6,000 daily posts, while unverified accounts were capped at 600. New unverified accounts were given a threshold of 300 tweets per day.
Being an active presence on Twitter, Nicki Minaj took to the platform to address the newly imposed limits. She shared her plans for utilizing her daily allocation of 600 tweets, including promoting her upcoming album and engaging with her devoted fans, whom she affectionately referred to as “mushing the barbz in their head.”
Additionally, she humorously stated her intentions to “block & beat the duds while dissing them & cracking up laughing at my own jokes” and promised to share at least one NeNe Leakes gif.
When someone pointed out that Nicki Minaj, as a verified Twitter account, had a higher limit, she asserted that she didn’t desire special treatment. Declaring her approach, she replied, “No… I’m the kind of Queen that likes to get right down in the dirt with her subjects, sir. The monarchy will also not tolerate any sorts of disrespect. Oh & sir… never turn your back on the Queen. Good Day.”
However, following significant backlash, Elon Musk eventually increased the tweet viewing limits. He announced the new limits to be 10,000, 1,000, and 500, respectively, while acknowledging the irony of the view count on his original tweet. Notably, his post from July 1 has accumulated over half a billion views in less than two days.
