Nick Cannon Weighs In on Female Rap Legends: His Top 3 Picks and Past Collaborations Unveiled
Nick Cannon, the multi-talented actor, rapper, and comedian, recently opened up about his views on the greatest female rappers in history during an appearance on The Bootleg Kev Podcast.
Having worked closely with both Lil Kim and Mariah Carey, who famously clashed with Nicki Minaj, Cannon had some interesting insights to share.
While discussing his top female rapper rankings, Cannon initially hinted at Lil Kim holding a higher position than Nicki Minaj. However, he quickly shifted his stance, stating, “Let’s not disrespect Nicki. Nicki is a GOAT, whatever her gender is.” He went on to compare Minaj’s talent to that of Lauryn Hill and Missy Elliott, declaring the trio as the “Mount Rushmore” of female rappers.
In 2021, Lil Kim disclosed that Nick Cannon served as her manager and called him one of her best friends. The pair collaborated on VH1’s Miracle Across 125th Street, a TV movie that Cannon wrote and directed. Lil Kim shared her appreciation for Nick, saying, “I really did that movie for Nick. It’s part of my next level, Nick is convincing me. You know, he’s my manager?”
Nick Cannon was married to R&B/Pop icon Mariah Carey from 2008 to 2016. During their marriage, Carey engaged in a highly publicized feud with fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj, which included alleged threats of violence. As Cannon shares his thoughts on the rap game’s leading ladies, he brings his unique perspective from both personal and professional relationships.
