Nelly Strikes a Lucrative Deal, Sells Half of Music Catalog for $50 Million
Renowned rapper Nelly has made headlines with a significant transaction, reportedly selling 50% of his music catalog for a staggering $50 million.
A close source to the artist informed AllHipHop that Nelly has partnered with HarbourView Equity Partners, who have agreed to acquire select recorded assets from his impressive discography. This deal includes some of Nelly’s most iconic tracks, such as “Ride Wit Me,” “Dilemma” featuring Kelly Rowland, and the chart-topping hit “Hot in Herre.”
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Nelly has recently unveiled a new venture called MoShine, a beverage inspired by his love for hip-hop and country music. The artist shared his excitement, stating, “I’m taking a country tradition and mixing it up for everyone to enjoy. The corn-based moonshine comes in peach and passion fruit flavors, and it’s smooth enough for shots or can be paired with a variety of mixers. I want my fans to be able to reach for MoShine anytime they’re ready to get the party started.” This new venture showcases Nelly’s innovative and creative spirit.
While expanding his business endeavors, Nelly is also actively working on his forthcoming album titled “Heartland 2.” The original “Heartland” album marked Nelly’s first foray into country-inspired music, yielding the 3x-platinum single “Lil Bit” and collaborations with Breland. The sequel will continue in the same country-inspired vein and feature collaborations exclusively with female artists, creating an exciting blend of talents.
Furthermore, Nelly has rekindled his romance with Ashanti, with whom he had a long-term relationship before their split in 2013. Speculation about their reunion began circulating after a joint performance of Nelly’s “Body On Me” featuring Ashanti at TAO Beach Dayclub in Las Vegas. Subsequently, they were seen holding hands at the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight, fueling rumors of their renewed connection.
Nelly’s recent business triumph, creative endeavors, and personal developments indicate an artist at the height of his career, continuously exploring new opportunities while embracing his musical roots and past relationships.
