Meek Mill Expresses Interest in Building Music School in The Bahamas, Receives Prime Minister’s Support
Rapper Meek Mill caught the attention of The Bahamas’ Prime Minister, Philip Davis, when he revealed his plans to establish a music school in the island nation on Wednesday, April 26. The Philadelphia native took to Twitter to share his idea and sought help from his followers to connect with the country’s leader.
Meek Mill tweeted, “I want to build a music school in Bahamas and teach them how to record and set up small studios the way we do in America! Who can connect me with the prime minister?” In a swift response, Prime Minister Philip Davis welcomed the proposal and expressed his openness to discussing the project.
Davis replied, “Our administration is always open to discussing ways to advance our orange economy, invest in Bahamians, and empower our young people.”
Earlier this year, Meek Mill demonstrated his commitment to education by supporting students in his hometown of Philadelphia. Collaborating with Kevin Hart and Michael Rubin, the rapper donated $7 million to educational initiatives in the city.
In a January tweet, Meek Mill emphasized his dedication to public schools, stating, “Gotta get the whole trap booming too. We come from the public schools side!!!!!” The majority of the donated funds were allocated to scholarships for low-income students to attend private schools, with additional resources provided for laptops, tablets, and WiFi access.
