Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” Skyrockets to Billboard Success and Beyond
Brooklyn-native rapper Lola Brooke has made waves in the music industry with her hit single “Don’t Play With It.”
Since its release in May 2021, the song has garnered substantial radio attention and popularity.
Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” climbed to the top spot on urban radio, following its TikTok-fueled debut at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated April 8. The original track features Billy B, while an official remix with Atlanta’s Latto and Yung Miami from City Girls was released on March 24, 2023.
The “Don’t Play With It (Remix)” music video, starring Lola Brooke, Latto, and Yung Miami, has already raked in over 3.6 million views on YouTube since its release last month. Meanwhile, the original version’s video is nearing 30 million views.
Earlier this year, Lola Brooke revealed that she signed a major label deal with Arista Records. The label’s CEO and President, David Massey, praised her music as “larger-than-life” and her vision as “powerful.”
Since joining forces with Arista Records, Brooke has landed an endorsement deal with Timberland for the brand’s 50th-anniversary campaign of the Original Timberland Boot. She also joined fellow New York artist A Boogie wit da Hoodie as an opener on his “Me Vs Myself Tour” international journey.
Lola Brooke’s fruitful year continued with her collaboration on “Conceited” alongside Alabama rapper Flo Milli and New York’s Maiya The Don. She has also hinted at an upcoming collaboration with Philadelphia hip-hop star Meek Mill.
