Lil Wayne Receives First Diamond Certification
Lil Wayne received the first diamond-selling single of his career for his hit song, “Lollipop.” The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) gifts a diamond certification to songs or albums that sell 10 million copies. Lil Wayne celebrated the honor on Instagram thanking his fans and acknowledging the late Static Major who appeared on the song. Lollipop was released in 2008 on his album, Tha Carter III. The song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was his first song to top the chart. The single spent five weeks at No. 1.
