Lil Durk’s ‘All My Life’ Reaches Top 10, Rumours About J. Cole Collaboration Debunked
Lil Durk’s latest hit “All My Life” secured its position in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his third song to achieve this feat.
The single, featuring J. Cole, greatly contributed to the initial success of his album ‘Almost Healed,’ which opened with 125,000 first-week units.
The success of the “All My Life” collaboration led to a whirlwind of speculation and rumors surrounding the track, Lil Durk, and J. Cole. Notably, a rumor circulating on social media suggested that Durk had paid Cole a whopping $978,000 for his featured verse.
Responding to the speculations, Ibrahim Hamad, the co-founder of J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, took to Twitter to dispel the rumors about the “All My Life” record. He subtly dismissed the supposed $978K transaction by posting a blue cap emoji.
Hamad’s “🧢” reaction likely symbolizes his dismissal of the rumor. However, he refrained from providing any additional comments on the alleged negotiations associated with Lil Durk’s “All My Life.”
Discussing his collaboration with the Dreamville rapper, Lil Durk said, “I’ve been talking to [J. Cole], checking up on him, just seeing how he’s doing. You wait for the right moment for him to ask to be on the song.”
Durk further commented, “The song has to be big. I just wanted to say, ‘I want J. Cole on the song.’ So when we created the song, the first person that came to my mind was, ‘I got to get J. Cole on this.'”
‘Almost Healed’ showcases an impressive lineup of collaborations, including performances by Alicia Keys, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Morgan Wallen, and the late Juice Wrld. Both Cole and Keys have also made appearances in the music videos for the album’s tracks.
