Latto Is Billboard’s Top New Artist
As the year closes, Billboard names Latto the Top New R&B/Hip Hop Artist and the Top Female Rap Artist of 2022. Latto’s success comes off the heels of her breakthrough chart success with the hit, “Big Energy,” which is also No. 1 on the year-end R&B/Hip Hop Digital Song Sales, Rap Digital Song Sales, and Rhythmic Airplay Songs recaps. “Big Energy” is her biggest hit reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song went viral in its original form before catching an extra boost from Mariah Carey and DJ Khaled on the remix. Latto is closing out the year with her new single, “FTCU” which features GloRilla and Gangsta Boo.
