Rapper Kodak Black is building momentum for his forthcoming album, “Pistols & Pearls,” by teasing the release of his short film, “The Don,” set to launch later this week. The artist behind the hit “Super Gremlin” revealed a thrilling preview on Instagram on Monday (May 22), announcing the film and inviting fans to a private screening before its official release on Friday (May 26). In his Instagram post, Kodak Black wrote, “For a chance to attend the exclusive screening of my feature short film ‘The Don’ in Miami, NY, Atlanta, or LA, sign up now using the link… Official release this Friday, 5/26, on www.officialkodakblack.com.” The trailer is available for viewing below. It appears that Kodak Black is aiming to conclude this current chapter of his music career on a high note. Earlier in the week, he hinted at a potential departure from Atlantic Records while announcing “Pistols & Pearls.” Expressing his gratitude, he shared on Instagram, “Thanks to everyone who’s been on this journey with me, showing love and support. My journey with @atlanticrecords has been amazing, filled with gratitude and the utmost respect.” “Pistols & Pearls” marks Kodak’s fifth studio album, succeeding his 2022 release “Back for Everything,” which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. In an amusing turn of events last week, Kodak Black showed off his dance skills—or the lack thereof—during an interview with the talented 13-year-old journalist, Jazzy. The host of Jazzy’s World TV prompted the rapper to reminisce about his favorite childhood dances before encouraging him to display his footwork. Kodak Black recounted, “A lot of dances came and went, but in my area, we didn’t indulge in all that extravagant stuff. We’d Jook till we couldn’t anymore. It was a dance like you’re mimicking a shootout. Not that it’s a good thing, but it’s just a dance.” After Jazzy showed him how to ‘get sturdy’, Kodak Black confessed, “Oh, I can’t do all that.” He attempted the dance trend but quickly admitted defeat.
