Jermaine Dupri Confirms So So Def Bad Boy Verzuz
Jermaine Dupri and Diddy will take the Verzuz stage to face off in a So So Def and Bad Boy Records face-off. JD made the announcement while on stage during the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta. The battle has been brewing for over a year when Jermaine first issued the challenge. At the time, Diddy dismissed him saying that Dr. Dre was his only worthy opponent. While visiting Atlant’s V-103 Jermaine Dupri responded by saying, “I am in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Puff Daddy’s not in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Steve Stoute and the Trackmasters are not in the Hall of Fame. I shouldn’t have to play nothing. I am in a seat that Puff Daddy can’t pay for.” JD and Diddy finally came to an agreement deciding to showcase the history of their respective labels playing all of their hits instead of battling. After Swizz and Timbaland sued Triller, Diddy said, “Since we ain’t f****** with Verzuz no more since ’cause they f****** around with our boys, we don’t need to be going against each other. Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta. It ain’t no Verzuz, it’s just hit for hit.” Jermaine Dupri replied, “Let’s do it.”
