Jay-Z Wins Lawsuit With Fragrance Company
Jay-Z was awarded over $4.5 Million in royalties after a dispute with Parlux, a fragrance company that sued him for breach of contract.
Parlux filed a $68 Million lawsuit against Jay-Z, claiming he failed to sufficiently promote a fragrance, “Gold Jay-Z.” They claimed he didn’t show up to a Macy’s launch or appearance on Good Morning America. According to Parlux, his failure to comply to boost sales cost the company millions. Jay-Z’s legal team said the company did not have the knowledge to market a Jay-Z brand. In his testimony, Jay accused the company of “crappy, lazy work.” He was found not liable in the lawsuit and awarded for unpaid royalties.
