Dr. Dre Among 2024 Hollywood Walk Of Fame Inductees
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced the illustrious lineup for the new Hollywood Walk of Fame class.
Comprising 31 names from various categories such as Motion Pictures, Television, Live Theatre/Live Performance, Radio, Recording, and Sports Entertainment, the honorees represent a diverse array of talent.
Among the notable individuals set to receive stars on the Walk of Fame are Dr. Dre, Angie Martinez, Toni Braxton, Brandy, Kerry Washington, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Mario Lopez, and former Oakland Raider turned actor Carl Weathers. In recognition of their contributions to their respective fields, posthumous stars will be awarded to Chadwick Boseman and Otis Redding.
Expressing her excitement, Walk of Fame Chair Ellen K stated, “The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway.”
The inclusion of Hip-Hop artists in this year’s inductees is particularly noteworthy, with Ice-T and Salt-n-Pepa among the few honored. In February, a special ceremony was held to unveil Ice-T’s star, where television mogul Dick Wolf, Public Enemy’s Chuck D, fellow Law & Order: SVU actress Mariska Hargitay, comedian Mike Epps, Ice Cube, and Russell Simmons were present. For Ice-T, the event held special significance, as he reminisced about his earlier years wreaking havoc on the very same Hollywood streets in the 1980s.
While specific dates for the forthcoming induction ceremonies have yet to be scheduled, updates will be provided throughout the year on the official website of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
