Concerns over television personality Wendy Williams’ well-being have been growing in recent times, especially after her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., publicly voiced his worries about his mother’s health. Hunter Jr. expressed his belief that his mother is not herself and suggested she is being exploited by those in her immediate circle. He has also voiced concerns about her alcohol consumption, stating it exceeds normal levels and may pose a life-threatening risk given its impact on her overall health. Hunter Jr. explained, “They had her in a position where she was agreeing to a lot that she shouldn’t have. I feel that when it comes to people wanting to ‘help’ her, a lot of it is coming from a stance of, okay, she’s alone now.” He added that her handlers were either providing alcohol or enabling her drinking, a dangerous combination given her history with substance abuse and ongoing physical and mental health struggles. Amidst the concerns and speculation, Wendy Williams’ manager, Will Selby, has confirmed that the talk show host is currently in a rehabilitation facility. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday (June 7), he said, “Wendy is at a facility doing her best to be her best. She’s taking it day by day.” Selby also critiqued the public and media’s approach to Williams’ situation, suggesting a more compassionate approach would be beneficial. He said, “Why don’t we just stop for a moment and just say, ‘Hey, how is she? Is she doing OK today?’ Why is that not the focus? Why isn’t that what we’re talking about on a daily basis?”
