Cardi B’s catchy lyrics have found their way into Louisiana State University’s basketball program, thanks to assistant coach and recruiter Gary Redus II.
Embracing Cardi B’s line from the song “Put It On Da Floor Again,” Redus took to Twitter to seek assistance in designing a graphic tee featuring the rapper’s bars, which he could wear while recruiting in July.
After successfully acquiring the “Put It On Da Floor Again” tee, Redus proudly shared photos of himself wearing an LSU Tigers women’s basketball team shirt adorned with Cardi B’s lyrics. His caption included an invitation for others to reach out if they wanted a similar shirt, tagging Cardi B herself. The gesture garnered attention when the Grammy-winning artist retweeted Redus’ images to her massive Twitter following of 30.5 million, giving the promotion an additional boost. Redus also shared a link to a website where fans could purchase the “Ballin So Hard Graphic Shirt.”
Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor Again,” featuring Cardi B, reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The official music video for the track, directed by HidjiWorld/Latto, featured a cameo appearance by LSU star Angel Reese. The visuals have since accumulated over 18 million views on YouTube.
In April, Gary Redus II, Angel Reese, and the rest of the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team celebrated their victory as champions of the 2023 NCAA Division I tournament. Reese’s outstanding performance earned her the Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament, further adding to the team’s achievements.
