Black Thought Black Thought was honored with a colorful mural in his hometown of Philadelphia. The mural is on the side of The Clay Studio at 1425 N. American Street. It is a non-profit art gallery that showcases local art. Roberto Lugo is the artist who created the mural which displays Black Thought’s face in the center of a vase surrounded by multi-colored plants. Black Thought spoke with The Philly Voice to say, “This is huge for me. To go from scaling buildings to get a little bit of rep and tag my name somewhere that may never be seen, to having my face plastered on the side of this four-story building. It’s pretty amazing.” At the age of twelve, Black Thought was arrested for tagging local buildings with Graffiti. As a punishment, he was sentenced to remove graffiti from local buildings. He now sits on the board of the Mural Arts Project.
