21 Savage says Meek Mill was instrumental in securing his release from an immigration detention center. 21 was arrested by ICE officials in 2019 because he had been living in the U.S. on an expired visa. He spoke about the situation during an appearance on “My Expert Opinion” with Math Hoffa. 21 Savage was detained because he had a felony conviction but it was vacated prior to being arrested by ICE. Meek Mill connected 21 Savage with Jay-Z who brought in his attorney Alex Spiro to assist with the legal battle.
