Yesterday, Harlem rapper Dave East turned himself in for allegedy assaulting a man while leaving a yacht party. He surrendered to authorities on Tuesday morning, and was then charged with misdemeanor assault. Allegedly, East punched a man in the face as he was leaving a cruise on the marina near Hudson river park. The man claimed that there was no altercation between the two before Dave punched him.

After turning himself in, East was charged then released. In a statement to TMZ, his team kept it short.  “We appeared as requested at the police precinct and we look forward to reviewing the criminal court complaint and investigating. My client is an absolute gentleman.”

The rapper is set to appear back in court in December.
