Chance The Rapper Is Partnering With MGM To Create A Musical Film

Chance The Rapper is always expanding into new areas of media and entertainment. Yesterday, Deadline reported that the Chicago rapper is creating a movie musical with his manager Pat Corcoran, MGM, Scott Bernstein and Nico Segal.
The film centers around a group of Chicago teenagers that utilize art to promote change in their community. Carlito Rodriguez, a writer for Empire, will write the script for MGM. On the other hand, Nico Segal takes on the music selection for the movie.
Chance’s manager also vocalized his excitement about bringing the film. “From day one, our mission at Haight Films’ has been to apply Haight Brand’s artist-first and Chicago-proud ideology to the film space,” Corcoran says. “We are incredibly excited to be working alongside Chance, MGM and Scott Bernstein to bring this vision to life.”
