According to the Miami Herald, rapper Kodak Black was released from jail around 1am Saturday morning. The Florida native was initially facing up to 12 years for multiple charges that included grand theft of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of 20 grams of marijuana, and child endangerment.

Shortly after he was initially charged, the grand theft, gun possesion, and child neglect charges were dropped, and Kodak was eventually sentenced to 1 year in jail. While being locked up, the rapper was able to obtain his GED, and record some music over the phone.

Due to Kodak’s good behavior behind bars, the judge agreed to recognize time served, and allowed him to be released 4 months early. It was reported that Kodak’s first stop after he was released was his mother’s home, in order to see her, as well as his young son.
