September marks the 30th anniversary of
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and now HBO Max has announced the cast will come together to film a reunion special to air in September. Most of the show’s regulars, including Tatyana Ali, Alfonso Ribeiro, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Joseph Marcell, Karyn Parsons, and DJ Jazzy Jeff, will return for the special. According to the network, the reunion will feature music, dancing, and some surprise guests.
The news of the reunion special comes on the heels of Will Smith announcing he’d be executive producing
Bel-Air, a dramatic reimagining of the hit series created by Morgan Cooper, who produced a trailer for the series in 2019. Cooper and Chris Collins (writer for shows
The Wire and
Sons of Anarchy) will co-write the series.
