R. Kelly is preparing to sue Lifetime for airing their Surviving R. Kelly docuseries. TMZ reports that Kellz’s lawyer sent a letter to the network alleging that the six-part program was “packed with lies.” The letter also stated that if Lifetime aired the special, then Kelly will file a federal lawsuit on the same day.
Lifetime aired the first 2 parts of the six-part series as part of a three-night event. Surviving R. Kelly shows the accounts of women who allegedly experienced abuse from the R&B singer. R. Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly, Jerhonda Pace, Kitti Jones, Asante McGee, Lisa Van Allen and singer Sparkle all appear in the series.
Kelly’s lawyer denies all allegations from the docuseries. He also alleges to have two, five-minute audio recordings that proves Lifetime knows “some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now.”
Parts 3 and 4 of Surviving R Kelly airs tonight at 8 P.M. EST.
