Kodak Black’s Dying to Live album press run has been highly entertaing to watch. In his own quirky and endearing way, Kodak has been showing more of his personality, and giving fans more insight into the beginnings of his career. In his most recent interview, he talks about getting early record deal offers from Boosie Badazz and Cash Money Records founder Birdman.

During an interview with DJ WHoo Kid on his show Whoolywood Shuffle, Kodak Black revealed the artists he could’ve signed with before his Atlantic deal. First, he brings up when Boosie tried to sign him for $10,000.

“I rock with Lil Boosie; I used to look up to him,” Kodak told Whoo Kid. “He wanted to sign me for, like, $10,000. I still rock with him, I did a song with him, I vibe with him, but I was like, ‘Nah.'”

Next, he went on to speak about how Birdman almost signed him as well. He said that the offer was larger than Boosie’s offer, but Kodak still declined because of the rocky relationship between Birdman and Lil Wayne, who sued the Birdman for 10’s of millions of dollars.

“It’s like somebody tellin’ me, ‘Oh, she got AIDS, bruh,'” Kodak said. “Even though I don’t know—I ain’t seen her papers—I’mma take that into consideration. You feel me?” he said.
