It’s no secret that Jay-Z stays up-to-date with what’s going in hip-hop and entertainment. Since 2018 is almost over, Hov decided to compile a list of his favorite songs from this year, and release the playlist on Tidal.
On the playlist titled “JAY-Z’s Year End Picks”, Jay reveals his top 20 songs. First up, is Pusha-T’s “If You Know You Know” from his Daytona album. Also, Drake makes three appearances on the list for Scorpion tracks “Emotionless” and “That’s How You Feel,” and on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode.”
Shockingly but not shockingly, Kanye West also makes the cut. Jay lists ’Ye’s “Freeee (Ghost Town Pt. 2)” and Nas’ “Cops Shot the Kid,” featuring Kanye. This is shocking considering Jay and ’Ye’s tension, but not shocking because of their friendship history.
Also on the playlist, Jay includes Kendrick and Jay Rock’s “King’s Dead,” Lil Wayne’s “Uproar,” Kodak Black’s “ZEZE” and more. Check out the full list of Jay-Z’s favorite songs of 2018 below.
