Young Thug just dropped his new EP, On The Rvn on September 24th. Listeners generally met the release with great approval and acclaim. Among the admirers, was none other than the legendary Elton John, whom Thug sampled on the project. After hearing the song in question, Elton John took to his Beats Radio show to praise Young Thug for his song “High”, which is a remake of John’s “Rocket Man”.

“Young Thug, who I love and have met. He dropped a track. It’s a remix of ‘Rocket Man,” said Elton. He then explained that he usually doesn’t play his own music or renditions of it on his show. However, he found Thugger’s rendition so amazing, that he just had to play it.

“And I don’t usually play my own stuff on this show but this is so cool and so good. These things are the great surprises in what I do. Sometimes you hear something that you never knew was going to happen or never thought was going to happen in a million years.”
