Jay-Z’s resume is filled with numerous titles ranging from being a recording artist, heading record labels, and having his own brand of alcohol, but now he can add another to the list–director of the Brooklyn Nets. A report from the New York Post, revealed that Jay-Z will be the new director of the Brooklyn Nets’ Barclay Arena.
The news was announced when Forest City Ratner Cos., the company developing the stadium, filed for a liquor license with some documents naming Shawn Carter as one of the stadium’s seven directors. Jay-Z will be attending board meetings and directing the aspects of the sport’s daily upkeep.
Even though they didn’t give full details on Jay-Z’s specific duties, he has already aided the stadium with some certain aesthetic elements. He helped out on re-designing the Nets’ logo and jerseys and he helped out furnish the arena’s 11 luxury box seats, which are named “The Vaults.”
Despite Jay-Z being a major public presence, he owns a minority share of the team with Mikhail Prokhorov, Russian billionaire, holding about 80% of the team’s shares.
