Lotus, which is scheduled for release in November, is Aguilera’s first release since 2010’s Bionic.
“Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives,” she wrote, adding, “There will be a ‘Lotus’ intro to set the tone for the whole record. Conceptually I didn’t target one particular sound/genre. Self expression and freedom [are album themes]. The album represents a rebirth for me.”
The album’s lead single, “Your Body,” will officially drop on Friday, ahead of a sneak peek of the video, set to premiere during “The Voice” on Monday.
And while “Your Body” is a Max Martin-produced club banger, she confirmed that there will be some slower jams on there as well. She wrote, “There are some beautiful personal ballads on this album. I wouldn’t do a record without them.”
