Blac Chyna Next month, the iconic B.A.P.S. will hit the stage in Michigan, with director and producer Je’Caryous Johnson enlisting Angela “Blac Chyna” White to portray the character of Nisi. The film adaptation of B.A.P.S., which premiered in 1997, went on to achieve cult classic status, with Halle Berry, an Academy Award winner, starring as Nisi in the buddy comedy directed by renowned filmmaker Robert Townsend. Blac Chyna expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying, “Wow, God is so good and everything that I’ve ever envisioned is finally all happening! I’m so excited to announce that I will be playing ‘Nisi’ the role that @halleberry played in 1997.” The B.A.P.S. Live production by Je’Caryous Johnson will take place in Detroit for four shows between May 12th and May 14th. Following this, Blac Chyna and the rest of the cast will travel to Los Angeles for performances from May 18th-21st, and then Atlanta from June 8th-11th. There have been recent rumors of a B.A.P.S. movie reboot, with Robert Townsend revealing that hip-hop artists Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion expressed interest in starring in the potential film. However, Cardi later minimized the speculation surrounding her involvement. Angela “Blac Chyna” White’s role in B.A.P.S. Live follows her recent public announcement of her physical and spiritual transformation from Blac Chyna back to Angela White, including the reversal of some cosmetic procedures. White discussed the changes on The Tamron Hall Show, saying, “This is me now. So you can see the difference, right here in the cheek area. Yeah, see when I smile, now you can see all of my teeth. I had so much filler in my lips to where as though I couldn’t even barely smile, but you see now when I smile.” In addition to B.A.P.S. Live, Je’Caryous Johnson has also produced stage adaptations of Set It Off and New Jack City. Set It Off Live originally starred Da Brat, LeToya Luckett, Kyla Pratt, and Demetria McKinney, while the current New Jack City Live production features Allen Payne, Anthony “Treach” Criss, Flex Alexander, and Gary Dourdan.
