Ice Cube Rapper and league owner Ice Cube is set to take his Big3 basketball competition to the United Kingdom, with a hopeful royal audience in mind. The U.S. Sun reports that the N.W.A. co-founder intends to host his 3×3 basketball exhibition in London, expressing his hopes of welcoming the newly ascended King Charles at the event, which is set to take place at the O2 Arena on August 26. The “Jackin’ For Beats” rapper shared his vision for the event, stating, “We want it to be star-studded. We want it to be the place to be in London on August 26.” He added, “We want people to feel like there is no better place to be in the city than the O2 Arena. Maybe the King might pop through and check it out, you never know!” In a playful tone, Ice Cube extended an invitation to King Charles, saying, “I’ve got a seat next to me, [King Charles] can come down there and kick it with me and we can check out some Big3 basketball. I think he’ll dig it!” It’s unclear whether this was a genuine invitation or a light-hearted jest. However, the rapper does plan to host some basketball legends at the event. Julius “Dr J” Erving and Clyde “the Glide” Drexler are reported to be among the attendees this summer. Speculation is rife about whether King Charles and his Queen will grace the event, or if Ice Cube would have better luck inviting Prince Harry for a quick visit.
