Dr Dre Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine have partnered with Adidas and PENSOLE to expand a multidisciplinary curriculum to fit high schools in Los Angeles. It all started with a program that was implemented at the University of Southern California in 2013 for students looking to integrate design, business and technology degrees. They began a series of workshops where students designed sneakers inspired by themes of ambition, power and love. Fast forward to today, Dre and Iovine are launching a new high school which will open its doors in September of this year. The school is tentatively called Regional High School No. 1. There will be 120 spots for 9th and 10th graders for the 2022-2023 academic year. Students will learn design, business and technology through hands-on, real world learning in addition to being prepared for college. The curriculum began with college students, is now taking on high school students but also has plans to go even younger to the middle schools.
