Controversial music icon, Kanye West appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (August 9th) to discuss a variety of topics like mental health, family life, and politics with the talk show host. Of course one subject that was bound to come up  was the rapper’s very public proclomations of support and adoraation for the current U.S. President, Donald Trump.

When asked about his choice to support the 45th president, Kanye answered “Just as a musician, African American, everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me and then told me that I couldn’t say that I like Trump.” He added, “If I’m afraid to be me, then I’m not Ye, that’s what makes me Ye. I enjoy when people are mad at me about certain things.”

After Ye expressed his reasoning for his Trump support, Jimmy Kimmel then posed a question that seemed to stump the rapper. Check out the interview below to see what Jimmy asked that had Kanye at a loss for words.
