Rihanna’s “Unapologetic” sold nearly 100,000 copies last week to debut at No. 1 on yesterday’s new U.K. album chart, besting One Direction’s “Take Me Home” which fell to No. 2. On top of that, Rihanna reaching the top of the charts marks a milestone in history. With “Unapologetic” atop the U.K. charts, Rihanna ties the record for a female artist of three consecutive No. 1 albums, jointly held by Madonna, Norah Jones and Eva Cassidy. The Barbadian superstar’s three-in-a-row sequence began in 2010 with “Loud” and continued with last year’s “Talk That Talk.” and now “Unapologetic” Congrats.
